Soaks will help soften, and they might help draw the infection to the surface, so that's a good thing to do. What I worry about is delaying the cutting because keeping her on antibiotics too long could cause a yeast infection, and for that you would need to buy another one or two somewhat expensive drugs.

I put Hailey outside for now since her foot's still intact and all her meds are taken until tonight. I'd like her to be eating a bit more so hoping this'll help. She was overjoyed and bounced out of the carrier to go see her friends.

That is what I would have done.

Dosing range is 10--14 days, yes? So if I go the full 14 it shouldn't cause yeast infections, right? There would still be 10--11 days after pus removal for the antibiotics to do their thing.

I had figured a day or two early wouldn't hurt and might help reduce progression.
