Hi All,
I am new here so forgive me for posting a redundant topic. I did look through the other bumblefoot posts but there is so much conflicting information.
I will cut to the chase - a couple of my ducks have bumblefoot on each foot. Some sores are barely there and some are quite large. I researched and pulled the scabs off and tried to get the hard piece out but to no avail. I didn't want to keep digging in there since I have no experience with this and despite the hours of research and video watching.
I have started to soak their feet in an epsom salt bath once a day, clean them, treat them with antibiotic ointment and bandage them back up. I do change the bandages every day. Do I need to keep them out of the coop and in a sense quarantine them? I have not reached out to a vet for antibiotics at this point as I saw that antibiotics may not really even help.
So, who here is a duck bumblefoot expert who is willing to help out a fellow duck lover? I would greatly appreciate any advice!! TIA
