I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but thank you for sharing. It really helps others to get follow up, positive or negative, after any kind of treatment. I wish someone would conduct an actual study of the various treatment approaches to bumblefoot, because without that, all we have to go on is anecdote.
I don't know your whole story, when you did the surgery, when she started to appear depressed, etc., so it's hard to say if her death was related to the bumblefoot, the surgery, or something else entirely. Depending on the timing of her decline, it is certainly possible that you did not successfully treat the infection and that it got into her blood, leading to death. It's also possible that you did treat the abscess, but during the surgery unknowlingly introduced other bacteria into her blood stream. Or, if she appeared completely recovered after surgery, and then declined much later, perhaps it was something else entirely.
