I know bumblefoot is brought up a lot here, but I have a very quick question.
I've dealt with it before and I've been successful. However, I have a chicken who has the round, black scab on the bottom of the foot. After a long soak, we've removed the scab and tried to expel the kernel, but no matter how hard we squeeze, or how much we dig, we're not getting any puss, infection, or kernel out.
We've removed the scab three times (a few days in between), sprayed with vetericyn, applied antibiotic cream (no pain reliever), and wrapped well. I also keep her in a kennel inside the coop so she doesn't continue to aggravate the situation.
Sidenote: She's also bleeding more than when I've removed other bumblefoot. Usually, we cut, squeeze, remove kernel... without much bleeding at all.
Any thoughts on how much I have to dig or squeeze to get this thing fixed? I got some Tricide Neo yesterday, so I'll try that, too, but I'd love more thoughts. Thank you so much!
