Bumblefoot?

Okay, she will still be able to walk with the wrap on right? Do I just peal it off?
I cut Lucy's wrap down lengthwise to about A half inch, only wrapped enough to go from sole, through each toe web and twice around ankle to loosely grip itself in place. Very minimal wrap. She didn't even seem to notice the wraps.

She had just gotten out of the foot bath in pic, so they were wet, but she stopped limping and started running right after treatment

Yeah but I just dont want her to get hurt. Lots of my hens have it but its small, could it be from the rain? Should I clean it and put ointment or something?
I wouldn't blame the rain. My silkies are out in it every time it rains and they've never had anything wrong with their feet like that. Many people's chickens like the rain.

I'd soak it in warm Epsom salt water for 15 minutes or so. Then look at it again. Feel it if it's hot or just normal. Is it hard or soft? I didn't read the article @Wyorp Rock posted yet, as it might mention PRID or drawing salve, but that sometimes works well for bumblefoot.

I'd just do the soak first and determine what that is for sure.

Okay thank you!

I've used tillysnest procedure for bumblefoot, it's not invasive and it works! It's easier on my hens. I've also continued to soak daily without pulling off the eschar and it fell out on it's own.

@Themellowyellows The round blister looking part you can see is the wide part of a cone-shaped infection 'core' that needs to be removed. My personal treatment method: Before removing the core, I clean with Vetricyn, apply triple-antibiotic, and wrap (I learned to wrap from a youtube video). This seems to soften the sole and makes the core easier to remove. Then clean, treat as above, re-wrap, and repeat until healed. Check thoroughly, especially between toes, for potential irritation from the wrap. Good luck, it takes patience and perseverance.

Gotcha, im scared to help her! I feel like I might do it wrong and hurt her.... How many vet wraps do I need? I have one and its purple so I hope it does not bother her. How many more soaks does she need? Do I have to pick it off? It seems to be getting worse.

Is there any way I would hurt her? Like is it possible? Because I really dont want too... Whats the advradge healing time line?
There isn't really a way to do it wrong. Have you checked the link to Tilly's Nest? She's a nurse who treated her hen uninvasively without surgery. She's thorough, clear, has experience, and knows her stuff. My chicken(s) wouldn't sit still to peel off the plug, (I know some chickens are more patient than mine) so I wrapped it up, and soaked everyday, starting with twice a day then moved to once a day when I saw the plug was shrinking. I sprayed Veteracin on her foot everday, put on neosporin (without pain relief formula) everyday and wrapped her foot everyday. It took longer, but the plug came out by itself when it was ready. When you read the comments from Tilly's Nest, the comments are kind and it has more information. I think you'll feel a lot better, and feel more confident to help your girl when you've finished reading it. You'll do well with her post being so absolutely thorough.
