I posted from my phone last night and it was super difficult to write all I wanted, so here's another post to describe the coop and what you're seeing. First, the run and all around it need some TLC since I just added the shorter portion of the run and created a pretty dirty, then muddy mess. I've started digging out the old dirt, adding fresh and will eventually add mulch. The coopp could use a good scrub inside and out, but it's not too bad all in all.
I built it to house 4 chickens, anticipating it could hold 6 comfortably if we really wanted.
The coop interior is about a 4 X 4 X 4 box but does rise on one wall to 5 ft. I'll have to get some interior shots soon.
Two nest boxes, around 12 x 12
The "human door" is basically one wall that opens so you can easily get in to clean it out. This fantastic for airing it out if need be as well.
I put linoleum tiles on the floor and am SO glad I did.
Run 8'x 4 ' x 4.5' coming off the coop. The other, new section, is shorter by 6 " - This was a goof on my part! It is completely covered in hardware cloth, with more buried around the perimeter to about 2 feet out. I have roofing material waiting, just need a little more lumber and time to get a roof on part of it again after the addition. I plan to add height to the entire run as well for the sake of humans, making it easier to clean and walk around in.
