She's cute! It says she's an American, but it's hard to tell without seeing her whole body. She could also be mixed with something else too.

I didn’t know what American meant lol

I’ve left them a message, hopefully they’ll return my call. If she is not litter trained how hard is it to litter train one that’s 10 months old?

American is a breed.

It's usually easier to litter train them as babies, but as long as you work with her I'm sure she'll catch on quickly. It doesn't say if she's spayed or not, so be sure to ask about that. If she is spayed, then litter training should be easy.

Their site said all their rabbits are neutered/spayed before they’re adopted out so we should be good there.

Just heard back and Ashley is available but she is part of a bonded pair and has to be taken with her sister, Mary-Kate , as well. It makes me a little nervous jumping right into two. Am I being ridiculous?

If you have the space, 2 bonded can be a great choice. I would call back and ask if there are any behavioral or medical issues. Tell them how far you’re coming from so that they know it would be an impact for you to have to return them.

Hello! I’m interested in bunnies but have no clue where to start! We’d have them just for fun/as pets, not for meat. Give me all the bunny basics!

-What all do we need for bunnies?
-Can they live outside year round?
-Do they need to stay inside for the first little bit due to cold? Or could they go straight outside?
-How hard is it to have a fully inside bunny?
-We have ducks and know that you shouldn’t have just one, is this the same case for bunnies or could we get just one?
-When purchasing from cal ranch or other farm store typically how old are the bunnies?

Any other information would be appreciated! I wanna make sure I know what we’re getting into before we start.

Foor starters I suggest you get Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits by Bob Bennett. It is a good basic book and it covers all aspects of raising rabbits from purchasing to housing to feeding to breeding to butchering. It isn't expensive and you can get a copy from amazon.

Just a comment on the wire hutches. You are far less likely to run into problems with things like coccidia with wire hutches. I had far fewer cases of ear mites when I changed to the all wire hutch too. In the end, you have to use what works for you.

I checked this morning and “Mary-Kate & Ashley” are still at the humane society. I’m warming up to the idea of 2 but my main concern is the litter training. Previous replies said that being 10 months old and spayed they could pick up litter training easy. Does anyone have any experience with litter training a bunny that wasn’t litter trained as a babe?

Neither of my boys were trained as babies, but it was really easy to train them. They learned it in a couple days.
