real maple syrup helps to get them eating and if u can get bannanas into them that will help also. baby gas drops will help w/ pain and bloating and massageing the belly.

I think you are right as far as it being a meat rabbit it came from an auction and I just hate the way they treat them there. He seemed fine the first week we had him. The came with hay to eat and he was eating that like crazy then I introduced the rabbit pellets he also ate them like crazy for a few days now he won't touch them. They haven't had any greens yet, I only tried that today to see if he would eat them. I do not have the kind of money to take him to the vet. would yogurt work for introducing bacteria? I am up for any suggestions, I am a vet tech so I am up for the duty, just always worked with cats and dogs. He wants to eat paper? weird

Honestly, you need to get him to the vet. I'd check his teeth, as well, if you haven't already?

mine wouldn't eat the yougert i got a powder at petco to help with that part and sprinkled it on the food. it's called benabac(hope i spelled it right).

You're getting great advice here....We do not buy auction bunnies here. Once when I was helping a friend with a diarrhea bunny, I did a great deal of research and here's how we handled it holistically. All feed was removed (commercial feed).....Uncooked oatmeal was given, also weeping willow and blackberry bushes leaves and hay, As well as the first bunny poo cecetropes, (the shiny kind) from some of my healthy bunnies. Cecetropes helps restore the gut...

Do you have healthy bunnies that you can get cecetropes from and have for the bunny.

Thank you I have been reading, I have read some help ful stuff. I have uncooked oatmeal, and I have one health bunny, but how do I know and how do I get the "shiny" one! lol I will do anything if I know what and how.

I made him some pellet/pumpkin mush, and put a small amount in his mouth, then he licked some of the pumpkin on his own ate a few pellets and ate some uncooked oatmeal, took 2 big poops a little thicker than toothpaste, but not hard. Belly sounds are quiet nothing sounding horrible, I listened with a stethoscope.

Black berry vines are a great way to help stop diahrea, but without knowing the cause, you have to be careful you don't go to the other extreme and bind him up, rabbits dehydrate easily, so be sure he is getting some sort of electroylites. Benebac gel is very helpful, just be sure to check the expiration date. Any new foods can cause the same problem, the oatmeal is the safest. Any signs of congestion? Be sure to look inside their paws (ankle area) for any matting, bun's clean their noses.
