Burp cloths

Anyone here make or have received a burp cloth? They are so cute. My friend makes one for each new baby complete with the baby's name. I'm wondering what fabric to use: diaper, terry, etc.

I make and sell them at craft fairs.

I use flannel on one side and terry on the other.

I make mine rectangular (about 12 x 18 inches) instead of having shoulder cutouts so you can use them as a changing pad as well.

I'm expecting and it seems that everyone in my family is too, so I've just finished up a few of these for myself and others. I like buying prefold cloth diapers and embellishing the middle panel with a knit or flannel fabric. YOu can really embellish with any kind of fabric, I just find those too types more absorbant than woven fabrics. I also like to dye the cloth diapers before embellishing them.

I'll post pictures tomorrow of some of my finished ones so far.

I used leftover flannel from my nephews baby quilt to make him matching burp cloths and edged them with a fancy stitch on my sewing machine in a contrasting color.. turned out super cute!
