bursitis in hip

I have bursitis in my hip, man that makes me feel old

anyway when it flares up ( usually the result of me doing something stupid) I go to my doctor he sends me to physical therapy which helps but has a $20 copay 3x a week = $60 per week x 4 weeks= less chicken money

has anybody found any herbal remedies, liniments (critter meds are ok I love vetricin) ect ect that help. I can do most of the rehab stuff at home.

Oh in case you are curious bursitis occurs when the bursa which is a little cushion between your bones and muscles gets irritated then it feels like a hot poker being driven int your hip every time you take a step

When I had it in my knee years ago, the Dr. prescribed anti-inflamitories and that helped it heal.

I got a shot this winter it had steroids and anti-inflammatory meds it sure helped me it last for 2 months. I found just using heat helps a bunch heating pad something like that. Hope you feel better soon.

Chiropractor treats me and it's only 7 dollar co pay...and 2 ibuprofen morning and night. Usually sorts me out

A Salonpas Hot patch placed along sore area has really helped me. May cause irritation, though.

HOLY COW....

I have been fighting with a bad hip for 10 days+ now.

I thought I pulled something when I was walking my moms dog. He is 100lbs+ and has never been on a leash so needless to say he is pulling like crazy. right after I started training him I noticed my hip was super sore...

it started to get better and i started walking again... sure enough it flared up again...

I have it in my shoulder and my Dr give me a cortisone shot. That usually lasts for about 6 months, give or take depending on what kind of work I have been doing.
