I'm gonna be culling and condensing my bobs down. I figure I got 3 weeks of incubation and 4 weeks of brooding. That puts the first bobs going to camp, = open pen + should have time to finish the present pen under construction. But if I have a killer hatch rate, Im still too crowded. Im hope'in for 60%(normal for me and shipped egg). You want some chukars if I get in a bind? Bill

Actually, the butler pens got a bit out of hand, as most of my hobbies tend to do. I do like those pens thou. The last one was more like a short version of Randall's pens. This one is gonna be similar, 11' x 30" floor space, nuthin but functional..."Meat bird pen" if you will. The USDavis publication on raising chukars gives 5' x 30" for 25 birds as the grow out pen size. Says up to 16 weeks, if they start getting "peckish" I have a 100 bird bits on hand... first sign or trouble, everybody gets one! These wont be breeders or pets, there destine to be supper plain and simple. Kinda like cattle you really like. BTW, Daren I am lookin forward to hear'in them chime in with the local bob\\butler bob serenade that happens every morn'in and night...The coturnix are mostly mum. Bill
