I'm so confused!! We purchased this handsome fella last year as a one day old chick... He was supposed to be an Ameracauna (from a VERY reputable hatchery).... His colouring matched the Ameraucana roo pictures that I had seen; but now I've been seeing that Ameraucanas should have beards and muffs, and minimal wattles?!? .
So what is Cookie?! I'm all shook up! Lol

Hatcheries will sell EEs as Ameraucanas but they spell it differently, like Americana. It confuses many people. He’s still a gorgeous rooster and probably carries the blue egg gene.

90% of hatchery Ameraucanas are Easter Eggers. Very few hatcherys sell real Ameraucanas.

Good point, though he looks 90% pure or better. Definitely not like the average EE sold as Americanas.
