Hi, I am new to these forums. My name is Johnny. I breed finches mostly. I recently got into button quail and bob whites.
I have a health problem with one of my female button quail. This morning she was on her back with feet in air struggling to get up. I helped her up but she falls right back on her back. Does anyone know what this issue is? And most of all what can I do for her. It breaks my heart seeing her in this condition. I am putting a few drops of colloidal silver solution in her mouth every few hours. Thanks for any info someone out there can give me. JB

She is a young bird, approx. 2months old. She has not bred. She is outside in warm weather. I bring them in in the cold weather. I feed her layena, egg food, bird seed, egg shell.

HMMM! I am new to button quail so have no answer. I know some of the babies did this but with a boost of sugar water came out of it. It sounds like you have proper food though. When did you first notice this? Has she been drinking proper? eating?

It is time for her to start laying, but mine don't do that even if they had a egg not coming out good.

I hope someone else will see this and answer.

I really don't know. I only have 1 button, and it's only 3 weeks old. You should move this post to the emergencies forum, I don't think that forum is just for chickens. Hope she gets better.

The bird was fine last night. She seems to be responding to the colloidal silver solution. She is now up right but still has mobility problems. Thanks for all the quick responses.

She is still about the same this morning. She is still upright but can't seem to stand on her legs. I am wondering if she had some sort of stroke?
