Button Quail basics?

I have not owned quails before or any other birds. I want to raise button quails as 2 breeding pairs. What should I know about these quails and are they the greatest choice for a beginner.P.S I do own a dog if that affects anything

Coturnix are probably easier than buttons, but buttons are good ornamental pets. Buttons are not cold hardy, so you will want to keep them indoors or in an area that doesn't get too cold.
