Hey all,
I had asked a while back about 'turning the quail eggs'; being a newbie with my first gang of eggs. Well, despite my homemade styrofoam cooler incubator and the occasional dangerous temperature fluctuations, I'm now the proud 'mom' of 10 button quail babies.

I had put 25 eggs in, so I'm astounded by the successful hatch rate. Plus it's really only day 18, so I might get a few more. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on the forum for helping me out (even if you didn't post to my message, I have been reading the advice on the others).

You said it's 'only' day 18? I thought they hatched at day 16? I don't know!! I had one button hatch out of 20 eggs yesterday, and one that died in the shell. I am hoping I get at least one more button! The 2 A&M cortunix chicks that are in there are huge compared to that little guy!!
