Button Quail Housing. Will this work ...

Rabbit cages will work if they have a tray you can slide out to change the shavings in the bottom.
If you have to scoop them out that will stress the birds.

Could I raise the baby buttons in the box for a week or so?
 
Oh yes.... I use Totes similar to that for brooding Buttons.
They can fly at a very early age though so just be careful after a week or 2 for escapee's..
 
BEFORE they start flying. LOL
By two weeks they can fly short distances.
At birth they can hop pretty high and jump out of the incubator when you open it to get them out..

Yes just keep there shaveing fresh, and be very very careful not to lift the top to much to where they will fly out.

Right now mine are in a fish tank but am working on a house for them, but my top is a well was a screen door, and tehy dont even move it when they get flyty.
just keep up with the shaveings.​
