Button Quail Query

OK just curious...what is the purpose of Button Quail? THey are so small, do they actually produce meat thats worth the effort? Or are they just for fun, like Banties?

Mine are just for fun. They are soo cute, and unbelievably tiny when they hatch. I don't think you could eat them. My 10 yo dd says they wouldn't even make 1/2 a nugget! Their egg when opened = about a teaspoon. You could have a 12 egg omelet LOL!!
Oh just wanted to add that people who have aviaries like to have them because they don't bother the other birds and eat the seeds and whatnot off the floor of the aviary.....Kinda like a little mini cleaning crew

Coturnix quails not as tiny as buttons, not as colorful as buttons, but the raising is worth the effort along teh lines of meat and egg production AND they do well outside! Even in Alaska (as Ak- Tori) LOL!
