Hello Malik :)

Can you show us pictures of your cages? Maybe if we see them we can suggest an easier way to clean them :D

For my quail outside in a little coop and the aviary, I don't have to clean very often, only about 2 or 3 times a year because they have a big space with only a few quail and their poo dries up and goes back into the dirt.

If I do need to clean the outside quail, I dig up about an inch or two of their top soil and replace it. Or can scrape it and replace it.

I have some parts as hay so I can just pick up the hay and change it.

For my other quail in rabbit cages and a rabbit hutch, I spread newspaper overlapping on the bottom and put wood shavings on top. Then when I need to clean, I roll up the newspaper which holds the dirty shavings then put it in a big paper yard bag to be recycled, or you can compost it for fresh soil in the future. You might be able to burn it as well but I'm not sure about that.

Then for the crumbs and dust and leftover shavings, I use a small dustpan and brush to sweep it out, then it's ready for fresh newspaper and wood shavings :)

The wood shavings do get a bit messy so I vacuum/sweep them up. I am thinking of trying cut lawn grass that is dried out, maybe it won't be so messy and I know the quail LOVE grass nests!

Quail also LOVE to have a bath in sand or dirt - it's very special to them and a lot of fun (and fun to watch them!). It's also good for their feather and skin health. It helps to keep them busy and exercised if they can flap around in their sand, and maybe you can hide some seed (finch seed mix works well!) or their grit and some crushed oystershell in the sand box so they have to peck and scratch to find it, it's like they would do in the wild :p

*edit* I use a dollar store bought sifter to clean the sand of big wood shavings and poops and completely replace it every few months.
