Button Quail

That's a bit small, but doable if you have them separated into pairs. I have a 2' x 3' plastic tub that I put holes into then covered with hardware cloth for two pairs. It still seems a bit small for them, but I have several hides and such in there. They were raised together, so they get along.

In your situation, if you end up with any non-pairs, you'll probably have to create a bachelor or hen pen for the leftovers.
I'd probably only do pairs if I got them. I just wasn't sure if I could keep nonpairings or not

It definitely depends on the birds’ personalities. I know some people have success with trios (1 roo and 2 hens), but you can’t count on it. Mine started getting territorial and bickering as soon as they hit 8 weeks and wanted to build nests as couples.

Hopefully you get lucky with the split, but like Nabiki said, a bachelor pad might work if they can’t see or hear the hens. I follow someone on Instagram who keeps a lot of males together in a big greenhouse, and they seem to do fine.

When snow hatched she was the only button to hatch, the only survivor, we spoiled her and she was happy, rip snow. Basicly if they are by them self they need tons of attention from what i heard. And which is what i did, she even came with me to do laundry then we would play in the grass

I actually meant same sexes pairs or trios. I do my best to make sure my coturnix can still at least see and hear each other when I have to break up a colony. But buttons seemed to be a bit easier in terms of temperament

So are you planning to get buttons ? Mine are on day 8 today they are due the 19th, the experience of helping snow hatch then watching her move around and cuddle with the last two eggs(duds) was amazing, i have some coturnix rare mix too so im ready for that experience to (which u said u have some so u know already) i hope u get some they are amazing with the little personalities.
