the ones that peck him either shove them away and keep watch for a bit, or remove the ones t hat are doing that. I dont have any problems with mine. Sometmes older ones get curious of their toes but once they realize it's apart of their bodya nd not a worm or somethign they leave them alone

btw, my bigger chicks do walk on my smaller chicks, never had any die or even get hurt from it so i wouldnt worry too much about them falling on the button i know the button seems small but just remember mama button steps on her chiks too

I've got 3 ages of button chicks and 2 different ages of serama chicks in my brooder. They step on each other all the time. No one has suffered harm. The seramas are frequently sleeping on or under several buttons.

why ??
did he get weak cause it took me to long to get him a freind?
did his new friend squish the poor already pathetic baby?
was he sick to start ?

I'm sorry to hear he's not doing well. I have heard to expect to loose a few buttons for what seems like no reason at all, I guess they can be a little difficult to start out. I hope yours recovers.

Mix a little water with a drop of honey, and then use a Q-tip to apply it to the side of his beak, but don't force it so he chokes. Keep him warm... 95-100°F, and he may pull through. I'm so sorry to hear he's not doing well...
