Buy it Now - Sapphire Hatching Eggs 12+

Hi, We will be coming to Nashville the end of this month. I was wondering if you would have any pullets from your ameraucana roo and white leghorn hens. I would like to have a larger blue egg, especially since the yoke is my favorite part of the egg. I have purebred lavender roos with lavender and black/lavender hens.
Thanks,
Linda

I don't get to raise them usually. Everyone around here buys them up. I have 2 pullets now about 3-4 months old from my former EE roo (I don't have EE anymore). I am hatching chicks. I might have a few. I have a big order I am hatching for and several SBEL orders for eggs.

I just hatched 4 or 5 a week or so ago... not sure if I will still have them. I have not advertised them. They are straight run though.

Can we breed these that i would get from you together and still get the same blue egg from their offspring ?
Thanks ,
Shannon

You can breed them together, but they are a cross so you could get some white eggs in the next cross. I usually breed them back to a blue egg layer like an EE or Ameraucana or Legbar. That way you will keep you production up and keep the egg color too. The Dom White will keep popping up in each generation too. You will get some colors if you cross the an EE or Am or Legbar. If you breed the SBEL you will get fewer colors since they all carry one copy of Dom White.

Genetically the SBEL have 1 Copy of Dom White, 1 Copy of the Pea Comb, and 1 Copy of the Blue Egg gene. So if you breed them together you could get any combo of those genes. If you breed them to a Ameraucanas that has 2 copies of everything will keep those genes going in the next generation. The Ams would pass the Pea Comb and Blue Egg gene on to ALL the chicks. Essentially you have a high production EE with this cross. Lost of EE already have some Leghorn in their background.

I wll contact you before we head to Nashville to see what you may have available then.
Thanks

I have not been able to candle the eggs yet, but I have more hatching on the 20th. It is part of the order I have, but I only need 6 more chicks so I should have more in that hatch too.

Any eggs available yet? I did a quick scan over the last post and it looked like they wanted chicks. Thanks!!
