BWAA, HA, HA! You would think that after 15 years, the Hubs would know better than to dare me...

Ha, ha. Not deserting you. I just had a crazy weekend. The sale was ok. I made what I needed to make the next payment on my son's NY trip. My backyard still looks like a bomb went off, so no pictures until that is cleaned up, lol.

No way Chambertin! Mine is down right embarrassing. I was supposed to work on it today, but decided to check out the Feed Store instead. Nothing like pretending I have nothing else to do.

Philosophy was born out of making excuses for why you arent doing what you have to do.
Necessity isnt the mother of invention, laziness is. You think we "needed" the TV remote?

Nice way to combine two of life's great principals.

Yes, we are allowed to have 24 hens in the city. I think I'll start with five. I haven't been able to find much on having goats, other than a Manure Maintanance Ordinanance. I'll have to call the city on that one. We had pygmy goats a few years ago. My oldest daughter was in 4-H. We never checked the laws then. We just kept out fingers crossed that all would be well.

Off to work. I meant to get up early and be finished before the heat got bad. Yeah, right. Me up early?
If you have room for more then my advise is to get them all now. I am going through the integration thing right now and it is a lot of work! I wish I would have got all mine at the same time! I started with 6 a week later got 5 more and 4 months later got 5 more. I wanted 15-20, Had I known that you could go to the hatchery and get them I would have had them all from the beginning. My 5 six week old are in the coop in the brooder Doing the get to know each other thing! They don't have any direct contact with each other because you have to go slow at mixing them together. In 2 weeks at night time they will be placed on the roost with the big girls. {fingers crossed} But right now I have to take them in and out of the coop to put them in a separate run and it is a pain in the BUM! So rethink how many you really want. and get them all at the same time!

i'm just not sure if I want that many, Diana. I'm thinking 15 might be my limit. Tomorrow, Chambertin. I will get off of my butt tomorrow.

Well if that is what you want then my advise is get 15 at the same time! I tried to add some raised pullet to my flock and it was ugly! My lead hen penned them in the corner and tried stomping them to death! I rehomed the 5 raised pullets, came here and found out what I did wrong and then got 5 chicks. You can't just mix them all together and expect everyone to get along! Figure out how many you want from the beginning so you know how much space you need for them and go from there. Not trying to tell you what to do just trying to save you the problems I had.
