BWAA, HA, HA! You would think that after 15 years, the Hubs would know better than to dare me...

I think your chicken coop is going to be awesome! My husband originally thought i was CRAZY when I said I wanted chicken's but he helped my build our coop (grumbling all the way). Now he is totally on board and only gave me the stink eye when I told him we are getting goats in the spring. I think its a desensitization process lol. I will stay posted to see some pictures and get some updates!! Good luck!

Just read your posts! ROTFLMAO!! Yeah, I built my coop on Saturdays, it took 2 months. He was at work on Saturdays, so he wasn't here to get in my way.

And about the husband saying you can't do that............... with the help of a guy at work, I tore off the roof, replaced rotten decking and laid 35 squares of architectural shingles. It took 3 weekends. He actually told me "You're too OLD!" I would have died before backing down. The roofers wanted $11,000 to do it and I did it for under $5,000

ok just read 5 pages and no pics im Dying!!!!!!!

Pics are coming soon. I just dragged all of the "junk" out of my yard today. By my little, ole, self, as I told my husband. I hope to get some pics this weekend. Tomorrow, I have to prepare for a facial party that 'm doing for a baby shower. I'm an esthetician(skin-care specialist) on the side. And my son has a marching band competition on Saturday. I'm not sure when I'll get time to do anything this weekend.

Same here. I can't wait to see the photos and new chickens.

This is awesome... I kinda had the same thing with my husband, lol! I've been hell-bent for years on getting chickens. Last year we moved into a rental property and the first question I asked the landlord was, "can I get chickens?" He said "do whatever you want as long as you don't burn the house down." My husband didn't think I'd ever get around to doing it but earlier this year, I plotted out a piece of land just in the shelter of the woods but bordering on the back yard, drew up proper plans for a coop built on a slope for a dozen + chickens, and started building... BY HAND! (My circular saw is battery-operated so I saved it for the miters on the studs of the sloping walls.) A week later, my coop was done and I got my chickens :D
