BYC’s BirdTober Thread - 2025

I'm pretty disappointed that I was only able to get to day six 😭 This month has been crazy with school and work and lots of other things. I am really glad I got to do some watercolor, and hope to someday work on my technique with that a bit more.

I enjoyed seeing everyone's birds so much, and congratulations to everyone who was able to finish the challenge.

And to you, Clouds, every. single. year. you turn up and complete the challenge? With gorgeous birds of all shapes and sizes-- ooh, and your PARROTS!
Constantly impressed by you. Excited to see your work next year. ;)
Aw RD 😭
One of these years I'd like to finish it the whole way.
I love the excuse to draw parrots I otherwise wouldn't/don't get the chance to draw :p It gives me a chance to draw many non parrots I wouldn't even think to draw either too.
Overall this is always so much fun and Im actually so happy with the pages this helped fill out in my sketchbook. Flicking through them feels SO good.

I know, right? It feels so good to have a bunch of birds on the pages of my sketchbook.

2x! I was worried that my sketchbook was never going to get pass the three pages that I had drawn in it, but now it has several.

Ok, for long, thin wings I did a Blue Footed Booby, but I was more interested in drawing the feet than the wings, to be honest.

And then for Black and White I did the beautiful Pied Harrier

There was a definite slide in quality towards the end of the month, but that happens every year. But I've done it! It's finished! Praise the Lord!
