Will it "bump it up" to $25.25 or to my maximum bid of $30?

It wont' bump it to $30, but will bump it to either $25.01 or $25.25... I'm not sure which.

Are you being funny?

Hi Nifty, had an auction that has just closed. It lists Aceschix as the winner although she didn't meet the reserve bid? As far as I can see from my end she bid the minimum bid...

I don't know if there were any autobids on her part or not.

Here's the auction:

I've pm'd Terrie Lacy about this ....I hope she was the right one to ask.... Anyway. Would there be a reason this is happening?

Thanks and as always, hope you have a blessed day.

I just have a question on reserve price... why? lol

I have never understood what the purpose of them was. If you know you want at least 8$ out of your eggs, then isnt that the price that you would start at?

Not being a 'butt' here, just curious...

It lists Aceschix as the highest bidder, not as the winner.

Your reserve wasn't met, so that nullifies it.

Her highest bid is what she entered as her bid on your auction.

To avoid confusion, maybe you can just start your auction at your minimum you will take. Or just do a Buy it Now.
That way your allowed auctions won't be wasted.

It's a good question, Some folks like to bid a lot and that's why I put it there, but after this experience, I'll reevaluate whether or not to put a reserve there....

I was trying to give folks bidding fun.....I'm still learning our new system....

I wish we had a "buy it now" or Bid system so for folks who would rather buy it now, they could do so.

Well,,,,anyhow...

Thanks Terrie for the help and answers.

(final question..........) Why is the box open for feedback for the buyer, if in fact the minimum bid wasn't met????

There is a buy it now option already

Oops, I'm not very clear. If we could have a regular auction going but also a "buy it now" feature so that if a person didn't want to bid, they could click the buy it now feature and it would simply go off inventory as it does on other auction sites. I had suggested this possibility but I believe it was too cumbersome for our software/system.

Right now the seller needs to select either the buy system or the bid system and that's fine and I'm so grateful BYC has this system.
Have a blessed day. Nancy

Actually I received the same message I always do when I win a listing - I am pasting it below. Please advise!

Deleted user You won a listing. Please check this link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=326111

When
you follow the link it has the big green box that says you have won.

This is not really a glitch, but something that is a common sense thing at this point. We have not put this into the auction system, since it is a simple courtesy to our members.

Obviously if you don't meet the reserve, the auction wasn't won, so the feedback and the payment info would be ignored. However you could PM the seller and ask what the reserve was and maybe buy it that way.

Thanks
