After I let my morning dose of pain meds take effect I can almost walk upright with and almost normal gait. Then that gets me thinking that maybe my back isn't so bad. But by the end of the workday, and doing very little walking or standing, my back, hip and leg are just burning. Today was particularly bad. I can't wait until Monday.

What for one is right I pray you get relief.
Pain killers are not all life should be.

Hoo boy. As I start doing my chores I realize there is a LOT I will not be able to do with a 10# lifting restriction and no bending for the first 2 weeks...

Prune the pond.
Do weekly pond maintenance.
Move the doody bucket around.
Fill/clean the chicken waterer.
Water the plants.
Harvest the garden.
Hang the wash and bring it in.
Put my pants on! 😳 (This is why I've been wearing dresses whenever I leave the house.)

My sister is planning on switching spots with C for the first few days so she can make sure I have something to eat and help with whatever I need help with. So now I need to strip his bed and wash all the bedding for her.

I have thoughts on who will be able to help with what to get the job done until I can do these things myself. I'll just sit back and be project manager.
I have just experienced twice all the restrictions that come with major surgery, if you are not allowed to bend, remember to put everything you need at waist level or above! I got a kind of artificial hand ( long metal rod with a grip at the end and a sort of pincer at the other hand) , good for getting clothes on on and off, if possible, do all your shopping ahead ( hard to lift all those heavy things) and make lunch ahead ( freeze) or easy things, heavy pots are a no go either 🙄

This is why my sister will be moving in with me for the first several days. After that, my housemate will have to do it. Everyone in my family has been assigned a task to help me out.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

When I got home from work yesterday, I found C's room like this:

Bella and Piper look like they work for the Mafia. Bella gets them in and Piper trashes the joint.
Thankfully, most of this was empty packages. There was a zip-lock baggie of ibuprofen on the floor that I was immensely grateful that Piper didn't tear open and eat. I told C that he needs to start locking the door when neither of us are here.
I know Bella is opening doors because she's not getting enough time running to dispel her pent up energy.
Soon enough girlie. Soon enough. I'll get us there.

Piper on the other hand is just a "trouble-making-everything-I-can-get-in-my-mouth-is-MINE" idiot. I hope she grows out of this nonsense soon.

A Diabolical Duo!

Soreness fading, whew that was a rough couple days.
Took the ibuprofen too late to do much good.
Going to fetch chicken chow and scratch today, luckily don't need to move it to the coop for a couple days. Lots of mid to high 80's and rain in the 10 day.
Broody broke, got 7 eggs yesterday instead of the 2-4, not that those two things are related.
