I can't stand TV weather reporting, unless there's a current extreme event happening.
I have a weatherunderground icon set to my locale and look at the 10 day every morning. They are pretty accurate.
Weatherdotcom has pretty good real time radar if I get curious about that.

Channel 8 out of Grand Rapids does a really good job. They have all the newest gadgets, and they explain the technical stuff very well. When we've had to watch another channel, it seems amazingly amateur by comparison.

I just went to weatherunderground. Their satellite image of my road is at least a few years old. I can tell because it's from before we put up the nice fence around the downhill garden, and the perimeter of the garden changed.

On that map, you can't even find the houses back here for all the trees.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

We have a light rain now and the too warm weather is done; hopefully for the year. I will ask my family to help get the A/C out of the window this week.

One of my projects over my long weekend was to clean out the chimney and stove and that is done. I will get one more crate of pallet scrap and put it up and I'll have all the wood I'll need for the year.

I've gone and named that dark cockerel. I'm going to keep him the longest. As soon as the sedum changes color out there I'll get the other boys posed in front of it for their ad pictures and get going on getting them on their way.

Not sure why that matters, or what map you are talking about.
Maybe one where you pick the closest weather station as your local.
Might be different if you are on a tablet or phone rather than the laptop I use. But I would let it stop you from setting up a good source for real time weather forecasts, for like right now rather than waiting for the tv news to come on. Yeah ch8 is good, doesn't always come in here tho.

I am a NOAA girl, when they get it right...
Our forecast is based on altitude and we are between 2 zones, so I read the best of one and the worst of the other, add some peeking out and air sniffing for adjustment, and it seems to be pretty close, when they get it right...

These 2 are maniacs.
It's raining so I haven't take them out to run yet and decided to lay down on the rug and do my stretching and exercises. This is what I have to deal with.

Notice how Bella keeps folding up her front legs or moving them off the bed to keep Piper from biting them.
