BYC Café

Another rainy day, this rain is wearing me out. No coffee/tea going to fix it.
3 things I will do today are:
Do nothing
Accept this rain will drag on to eternity
Stay still and imagine my world full of sunshine and blue sky.
I would like some of your rain. It is crispy fried fire danger dry and windy here. Since Milton passed through - not a drop of rain. Find a way to appreciate it - I used to love to sit on the porch and listen to the rain drops, the wind in the trees, the silence of outside activity. I no longer have those opportunities so I will have to live vacariously through yours.
Watch a favorite movie, curl up with a bottle of wine (if you drink) and a good book (if you read), doodle, journal, put on your favorite music CD and belt it out.......feel better.

I am imagine sending our rain over to your land.
As I read your post I imagine curl up on the couch, a hot chocolate, I don't drink not due to lack of trying, alcohol tastes bitter to me. Play suduko. Many years back we had those dried weather that we almost run out of water, the government was talking recycling sewage water. Bush fires are our danger in dry summer and winter.
I am in Australia, we are in spring season now and our spring season has storms, hails, flash flooding, rain, and this year our weather is much wilder.
Your area is too dry, mine is too wet. Why can we both have a bit of each then all is perfect? Mother nature stinks big time!
I have chickens and my chickens ares are muddy, so very muddy, and potholes everywhere. My chickens were happy when it rain a day or two, but after that they all look miserable, fighting each other. There isn't anything I can do for them, we just wear it out with great discomfort.
Sending our rain to your land.

I am in Australia
Ohhhh...I wondered!

Here's how to add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

Hubby and I split and stacked about a cord of wood today. He splits, I stack. He does the heavy lifting and I do the walking. We only fell standing dead stuff. This was a long dead oak that had a lot of dry rot on the outside, but the wood was still plenty wet inside on some of the pieces.

And it had a lot of this inside.

The white "worm" things... any idea what that is?

According to Google lens, it's oak wilt. Is the ruin of many oaks
