Good morning all! The cookout went well, but I sure am tired. High of 86 today with a 50% chance of rain in the afternoon. Coffee please Margie, I am tired. I am ready for some racing and blown engines, LLPhil.

Muggy, mid-70's with splash-and-dash showers; heading for a high in the low 80's - hello, Bonnie.

Alex was a minimal hurricane that formed back in January - it sort of wandered around out in the Atlantic and didn't have any impact on the US. That's right, January - one of those "you have got to be kidding me" situations.

Critter remarked this morning that he thought we should be Bonnie-proof, having been pretty thoroughly inoculated by previous storms of that name.

This one is just a soggy mess; no biggie.

Years ago, I thought someone should come up with a version of the Sunday School attendance pins that was a hurricane symbol, with bars that had storm names on them. If I had one, my chain of bars would be several inches long by now . . . . .

We had a nursery friend that had t-shirts made of all of the natural disasters his place survived in a three month period, from fires to hurricanes, there were about five or six items.
The microburst did the most damage of them all though.

Something like this, they would most likely reschedule for later in the week. With the racing slicks that they use, they can't run a NASCAR race in the rain, but there's too much money involved for them to simply cancel.

The showers are coming and going, so depending on the conditions at start time, they may actually try to at least run part of the race.

Well, of course, Scott - running around in circles just seems natural to us rabbits.

But yeah, I've been a NASCAR fan for a while. My family used to tease me about my "NASCAR naps;" turn on the race, sit down to watch, fall asleep . . . .
