BYC Café

We shall see how quickly they find it again as I had a couple of Stellar jays that were giving me the stinkeye the other day, encouraging me to remember to pick some feed up!
Stay warm out there!
I have chickadees that will mob me complaining away if the feeders are empty. I understand the birdy stink eye.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

Bella kept leaving her bed last night and just standing at the foot of mine. I put her out, adjusted how the fan was blowing on me to make sure there was no draft across her bed but she kept getting up. So I let her out to go sleep in front of the wood stove.

She started farting around with the door handle this morning right on schedule to be put out and fed.

If she wants to sleep in front of the fire, that's where I'll leave her at night until the cold snap breaks. But it was the first night we slept in different rooms of the house since I got her. I don't know why that bugs me.

I totally understand.

Freya will sleep in front of the woodstove, but she always comes to bed with us. If she doesn't when hubby goes to bed (I'm in bed first; he's the night owl), he'll say something like, "We're going to bed, baby... don't you want to come sleep with the people?" and she will get up and come to her bed.

We do have a heated mattress pad for her bed at the foot of ours. Not that she's spoiled, or anything.

Good afternoon, Café!

I hope you all had a good start into 2025.
Around here the storms just won't cease and apart from one day and night with constant rain and higher temperatures that melted all the snow away, weather folks are predicting nasty winter weather with lots of snow and ice for the next few weeks.

All of our dogs always slept and sleep by my bedside. As soon as I get up und start to switch off the lights at night, they get up and follow me around ( even to the bathroom to monitor my nightly rituals) and then we head to bed, dogs in front and by the side, me inside.

Is Bella getting too cold or are there other reasons for her restlessness? I would think her too young to show symptoms of dementia already.

Oh, I just read back a few posts and think that she might have feared to suddenly get steam mopped too as you may have appeared to have been overcome by a develish spirit with all your cleaning frenzy the other day! :lau

Sorry, small child flashback.

Winter is no longer fun.
Heard there was some nasty weather along your coast over there, with power outages and ice.

Got the errand run done, procurement partially productive.
Was a bit nervous about getting out of my snowpacked driveway, it felt rather slick when walking up to get mail last night. But no problem at all, whew.
