BYC Café

Why, is it outside?
No, it's about 40 miles away and runs from 7-9 pm; we just don't want to be out on the roads.

The club is going to start an apiary at Grand Rapids Community College. The college will offer a 1-credit class in beekeeping. I'm looking forward working there when they have work days. I want more hands on experience with bees with people who know a lot more than I do.

Good Morning All,
I am having green tea this morning.
Had my 1st cup of coffee before 5am already.

We are approaching Autumn here in Australia. February is the last month of our Summer. I can not wait for this summer season to be gone, done and dusted. It has been a terrible spring and summer this year. Endless rain, storm, high humidity, more rain and rain day in day out so much that we just simply wake up feeling miserable every day.

The night has been cold lately, we are still having rain and high humidity during the day. But the cold night is nature's way of saying autumn is coming and slowly by March it will be showing itself.

The colder weather is so welcoming now...
PS: Winter in my state is just cold air, clear blue sky, the coldest we get is at night time and it is about 5C = 41F

Have a great day all.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

Snow starting soon. Supposed to have 3-6 on the ground by tomorrow. I really wanted to get a run on the dogs. Piper can't be on the ground if it's not dry for more than 10-15 minutes when the temps are below 30. I have to carry her stuffed down the front of my Carhartt after she gets a short run. Maybe I'll take them to Agway and Lowes later.

Today should be quiet and dry
How was the wind for you last night?
Sounded a bit scary here but no damage.

Random snow flakes floating around here this morning, supposed to get more tomorrow, no clue what or how much...time will tell.
Errand run back on deck for this morning so will be set for books, bon-bons, and 'baccy as well as a few other 'essentials'.

Cold here but nothing to shovel or shuffle over.

One of my chronic broodies was in a nest last night, I put her right into the crate. Now I'll have to monitor her water bottle all day. Thinking she'll break quick because I caught her early and the cold should cool her down quick.

Oops! She wasn't broody after all.
Went out to check water around 4, it was 37 in coop(still below freeing outside), she had laid an egg in crate and wasn't ticking.....so I let her out and she was roosting tonight. She's laid in crate before even when definitely broody, so I wasn't sure.
