BYC Café

DH had a low blood sugar 1 am
Does he have a sensor? My buddy at work has been using sensors for over 2 years now. Prior to using them, he had EMTs called to the house at least 3-4 times a year. Since using the sensors, they've never been back.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! It is still above freezing here. The chickens got to free range yesterday and they had a great time. DH did some tractor work so my truck drift is gone.

DH's friend has a continuous glucose meter and that works well to keep him stable. It isn't perfect, but better than his previous time without it.

Not much else going on. It is supposed to get breezy later and the magpies will be irritated yet again! Glad that you are feeling better, DL! Enjoy the day, Cafe!

The "big thing" on the list today is going to H&R Block. The place that used to do our taxes closed; the owner decided to retire. They've done our taxes for 10-15 years.
I've always done my own taxes.
And my mom's when dad died.
And Dave's when he had income that didn't all go straight to the nursing home.

Funny that. I got a bill for the nursing home for $95 which I immediately tossed into the recycling bin. Before he died, I issued a stop payment on the February 2024 bill because they pre-bill for the month and I knew he was dying.

I got a call from the Corporate office about a week after he died. They were concerned that there was a stop payment on the check I sent. I explained to the representative why I did that. She looked up his record and told me exactly the balance owed (which was significantly less than what he was originally billed) and I immediately sent in that final payment.

I waited another month for any straggler bills to show up but nothing did. So I split what was left of his money 50/50 and mailed certified checks to his 2 rotten kids.

If that hellhole of a nursing home wants more money nearly a year later, they can contact his kids. I don't have it. And I HATE the nursing home for the terrible care Dave received while he was there.

I shared your pain about the rotten nursing home. My grandma passed away and I was relief that she was free from them. I can not move her to another nursing home because the last year of her life she refused to leave her room, dementia was getting hold of her.

I have no good thought or words about the nursing home.

Good Morning All.
I am having tea, and for me it is impossible to replace coffee with tea.

Yesterday much deep thought & reading so much on BYC looking for answer for my 1 year old chicken condition so I know what to do for her.

Yesterday I drove 2 hours into another state to the VET that do Implant for half the price cheaper than the Vet in my state. I got 2 of my hens implanted. 1 big job is done, today I can rest and just monitor them from now. I hope now their body can rest from egg laying and repair itself.

The Vet confirmed my young hen is at an early stage of internal laying.
