Morning! Beautiful here, but supposed to be hot on the plains again. My friends from TX are coming in today, horses in tow. I thinks we are going to have a good time! I have to see how everyone is handling the altitude and the change in riding venue. Don't want to hurt their horses..... My girlfriends went riding yesterday and saw this little one....
that's totally cool.... I went 4-wheeling the other day and saw a bear and a turkey with chicks

Mornin' Scott, mornin. Phil!

Who needs teenagers for drama - the weather provides plenty, eh? We got about 3" of rain yesterday too, but most of it came within about half an hour. I had a few errands to run, and got caught between the feed store and the recycling center by a deluge. I really don't like driving when it's coming down so hard I can barely see the road. On a notoriously busy road that really should be a divided 4-lane, I came across a guy on a bicycle. He had a strobe in his headlamp - good thing, because I might not have seen him otherwise (hope he had something equally attention-getting at the rear!) Don't reckon he needed a shower when he got home, just a towel.

Lots of lightning in this storm, one bolt has most likely killed one of the biggest trees on our property. Traffic lights near our house were out of service; I really don't envy the police officers that have to direct traffic on that road. And - oh, yeah - we lost internet service for about 6 hours. Welcome to summer.

Morning! The coffee is divine! It is cutting through the head fog caused by the pine pollen explosion, or was it the tequila?

My friends are heading back to TX today, boo hoo. It has been fun. We had a campfire last night, monster marshmallows and popcorn.
My neighbor had these guys come visit; maybe they smelled the popcorn!

Scott, the Rocky Mountains are a great place to ride because there are mounting blocks everywhere, rocks, steep slopes, fallen trees..... all good. You also score big points in a competitive trail race if you use them, FYI.
Phil, you can keep the bear. I think someone shot our problem bear from this Spring. It has been very quiet lately.
Bunny, I sure hope you don't lose your tree. I have a couple of favorites on our property too.

This reminded me - BB2K has put a lot of work into Latte and Sunny during the last few months on this very thing. She likes to ride bareback, and they both have been bad about sidling away from the block as you try to get on. Last time she rode Latte, I saw her line her up beside a log section, step up on the log, step onto the horse - and the horse didn't move a foot. It might seem like a little thing, but I was so proud of them both . . .
