BYC Café

Someone sent our church a truckload of tomatoes so I put up about 40 or 50 quarts. I lost count. I spent half the day yesterday and this morning but it was worth the effort. We were calling everyone we knew yesterday trying to give them away. I won't have to buy any for a long time. When the Wildbunch was griping about helping I reminded them that they are sure going to enjoy the spaghetti, soups, chili, etc... God is good.

You got lucky! So early in the season and you have that big of a head start on the canning. Did you do up any what Granddad called his stewed 'maters, canned with bell-peppers, celery and, a fair bit of onion. Sometimes added a glove of garlic or two and a few black pepper corns.
Now I am getting hungry for some stewed 'maters

Morning! Coffee with a side of stewed maters please!
All good. Spent the day helping one of DH's friends move. Flashbacks to college..., however this was a house, with antique furniture and drill presses and..... older bodies..... Took all day and DH is still sleeping and so is DS$, who was a huge help.
But the coffee is brewing and I have critter chores to do and a day to get on with..... and as I am fond of saying, " If you are still here.... you know the rest! "

It's wet and cloudy here. Storms blew through here during the night but everything is well. I got to turn the AC off for a few minutes anyway. Here in Arkansas it is the greenest summer I can remember in many years. I'm enjoying my coffee before everyone else gets up. I had to take my fur baby out to do her morning business and let all the chickens out. They are hanging in and near their coup though so we may be in for some more weather.
