BYC Café

Good morning, Scott and Berts. Coffee to go sounds good. Gonna play beat the heat and get a couple of dogs run. A day spent on 'accomplishing' measureable tasks is hard on the bocy but good on the mind.

I'm baa-ack.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the cafe, right?

Margie, maybe someone has remarked on this elsewhere, but perhaps your new boy is a Drum Horse? The Gypsy Cob is a smallish horse, about 14 hands; the Drum horse is a specific cross that is supposed to be the same type, but larger; 15+ hands tall.

Good morning everyone

Already to hot for hot coffee, looks like I will be drinking mine iced this morning.

you need to get up earlier then........lol

how's things OFW?

Things are good, too much to do, not enough time to do it all. Thing 1 turns 4 tomorrow. She wants a snow white themed birthday. I have been working sewing her a new snow white gown. Those costumes you can buy are so cheaply made.

usually are. made for a single time use.......

tell the barefoot princess happy b day from me.

Good morning all....

Coyotes were rather yippy last night...pretty close to the house, managed to wake everyone up!

OFW - I still have all of the Halloween costumes I made for my children. My daughter was always some variation on a princess, including the "beautiful witch" costume. It was beautiful, but expensive to make. My son was an astronaut, pirate, pilgrim, dearth Vader and Harry Potter.... I have them all carefully packed away for the grandchildren I'll never have!

Went blueberry picking yesterday, bumper crop this year, so we will be going back out this evening. Got 1 and 1/2 ice cream pails full. There is nothing better than wild blueberry jam. And I'm hoping I have enough for a pie too.

Looks to be hot and sunny here today, have a great day everybody!

We've had crews in the neighborhood trimming trees away from the power lines for the last little bit. Last Monday, they were on our street. Monday afternoon, our internet went down. After a while, Hubby called our internet provider's help line, which was no help at all. The gal with the odd accent led him through unplugging the modem and all that jazz, then said something about getting a tech to look into it. Over the next few days, he called several more times, and was given the automated message that the provider was aware of the problem and the service people had no further information. He bulled his way past the machine and talked to them anyway, and got quite frankly rude at times . . . . to no avail. Finally, he went to their local store on Friday, and was told that a tech would be out on Sunday. Within a few minutes, the problem was sorted - the tree guys had damaged the line where it came down the pole and went into the ground in a neighbor's yard. I can't believe that it took a week to get a guy out here - apparently, the "help line" folks did nothing about actually getting a real, live person on the scene.

MW, we used to go berry picking along the path behind our property - those wild blueberries are amazing! But most of the good bushes got plowed down when the county widened the road for the well field back there. Happy picking!

Yes I thought I was very clever. I went to the store after Halloween and bought a dozen costumes for 70% off. But the favorite were quickly destroyed (we did run outside through mud puddles in them, so not completely manufacturer fault). I enjoy sewing, so I think from now on I will just make each princess as her favorites change.
