Long awaited and very appreciated! Puddles are all soaked up this AM.
It is cool too, feels like Fall. Hot coffee for round one and I will do the dishes, how's that?

I have nights like that. My problem is when I can't sleep all night and I finally fall asleep to have my DH wake me up when he gets up for work (3 a.m.), lol.

I can't sleep either, have been up all night - it's 6:45 am now and my alarm will go off in less than a hour - so may as well goof off some more.

Hope you guys can get some sleep later! I finally turned my phone off at 5:12 lol

Wasn't me, I hate coffee :p I may have accidentally left a Reese's wrapper somewhere though.

We pick around 5 gallons of chokecherries, then we toss all of them into a big pot with juuuust enough water to cover, then boil them to get the juice out. Then we use cheesecloth to strain out the pits, then we have juice! From there, it's like other berry jellies. Chokecherries don't gel very well though, so mostly it's syrup. But it's some of the best darn pancake topper around.

One year a work mate came picking chokecherries for an afternoon, and we sent her with 17 gallons! And we always have more. I don't think we have ever cleared all the chokecherry bushes.

I've been picking elderberries for elderberry syrup. How do you pick chokecherries. I pick the whole stem of elderberries and then later strip the stems. I'm storing them in a freezer until I have enough for a batch. If you mixed the chokecherries with apple juice do you think it would jell better? Apple has pectin in it if I remember right. At least the peels.
