BYC Café

Coffee is good thanks, TK.  Scott good luck on getting that oven back in place.  Morning, VW/WV - cold there this morning ?

Daughter and her family are away.  Son and family are not coming since their dog + daughter's dog + our dog would be sheer bedlam.  Princess said not to bother cooking (figured that one out - she does not want to do the clean up) ; therefore, we will be eating turkey at Cracker Barrel tomorrow.  :(
my wife and Daughter are both working.... My mom doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving anymore as a few years ago my aunt died on Thanksgiving and the next year my uncle died on Thanksgiving...... I'll be eating whatever I can scrape up and hunting that day. It's one of those traditions we've lost. We didn't do Christmas last year either...... SAD

As near as can be found on the 'net, this oven was built back some time between '59-'62. Frigidaire told me that they don't even have any records that go back that far for any part numbers and such stuff. I had somekinda fun finding parts that were close enough to make work, and rewiring parts of it with modern high temp wire will help keep it working for the rest of the cooking season, then I will rewire all of it or buy (cough, COUGH) a new one.

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the coffee! Lots to do today before the kids get here,

Got the chick room turned back into a guest room and the chicks are now settled in the office. DH has been great about helping since my back is still jacked up. :( Oh, and I just realized that I never brought in some of my potted plants and it's 31 degrees out there this morning. Hope they survive.

. We lost our traditions when my mom passed over 20 years ago. She was a fantastic cook and loved having people over. I am a terrible cook and pretty much a party pooper.

I'm sure you're not that bad... :)

Good morning, cafe peeps.

Thanksgiving day hunting was always a tradition in my family, but Dad and brother in law are deceased and son was never interested in hunting. It is one of my favorite holidays, and I am slightly bummed that we will be celebrating alone. Oh that's right I forgot - we have the pugs.

sure sorry to hear that for you folks........I guess partly for us, most of our family is relatively local, at least within easy driving distance, so we get to enjoy b-days, and get togethers thru ought the year.
