Good morning 

Not sure what's going on outside yet but yesterday we had a bit of everything...sunshine, snow, rain, and wind...lots of wind.

  Good morning, Café.  Waiting on our first snow storm of the 'winter'.  Finally supposed to act like winter tomorrow.

Same here! Yesterday was just rain here though but we're getting all 4 seasons in one week!

Last night it was raining pretty hard for a while, kind where it all comes really fast so the roads don't really drain off, then it slows down, etc. Kind where you see the water dancing on the road haha

Evening all - tea is not on - Huge glass of wine - just heard from my SIL she has booked a flight and is coming for 5 days on Sunday.
Can't take it - chrematophia- bankrupt in 5 days - has over 100 credit cards seriously, and pays peter to pay paul. I'm broke, exhausted, cooked out and probably seriously depressed by the time she leaves.

She parks herself on the couch and doesn't leave until bedtime, and goes on and on and on - she can't even make a cup of tea herself.

somewhere, maybe with the chooks Oh gods all of you help..

@TumblingK so right, I think 'cremato' whatever is the wrong word, she loves spending money as long as it isn't hers - I have blackmailed my son into coming to help - and I have to brush up on my Afrikaans oh god - I wouldn't mind so much if she wouldn't keep calling me 'dingus' I have been her SILfor over 30 years, you would think I deserve something better. oh wow is me... sorry making tea now got a lovely little darjeeling just brewing

Really so sweet amazing how cats can sleep so deeply in 'dangerous' places lol

It was the cutest thing when they were little, they would play fight all the time. Now they they're adults and keep to themselves for the most part

Morning! Older not old..... still working on the wiser....
Anyway, it is Hump Day and all is well. The MS wrestlers did very well and as a team, we won 16 out of 21 bouts. Our 6th graders all went 2 wins out of 3 and now they are hooked and possibly rabid. Way fun to see their enthusiasm! It is also cast day for the DS$. He can't wait to see the color choices and stripes... Arnica is done today and bone mender starts plus a calcium supplement to get the boy back in the saddle asap. It was hard on him to just watch yesterday and some of the kids from last year remembered him and came over and said get well soon. All good!

I broke my leg when I was in grade 8, had a cast from my foot all the way up to my thigh - I opted for glow in the dark lol. Used to make pictures on it with a flashlight when we went camping. Glad he's excited about that part, casts are generally not too much fun!

Ugh, well that sounds incredibly stressful.

You only have so much of yourself to give, be sure to set limits as you need

Too right last time she came she cleaned out my shampoo, face cream, deo and substituted it for cheap cuk - this is one seriously unfortunate lady - never been married, never had kids, and never bothered with mine until they grew up and then she asked them for money. My D told her where to go... wish I had her guts oh well - and its DH's death anniversary I'm sure she is doing this just for spite. Need more wine stuff the tea.. nightxx

Um, I know that Americans are not known for our good manners, so to speak, but her issues should not be yours. I think you need to look at this differently, like a challenge. She has to have some money to book a flight last minute. She is inviting herself. I say she is free labor and if she wants to talk to you, she can do it wherever you happen to be. Offer to pay for NOTHING!
Put your personal bathroom items in a drawer in your bedroom. Put a thing of dog shampoo in your shower. On your DH's day, take time for yourself and have something special for yourself set aside. Make her work or she can feel unwelcome, let her make the choice. It is okay to stick up for yourself! I would not rearrange my life for someone I did not invite to my house. They would have to sit in the house by themselves or come along on my day to day chores. That is what you should do in my opinion. FREE LABOR or at the very least, you can start some of those chores that you have been putting off and if she never leaves the couch, oh well.
