They are wooden handled, and kind of heavy! Of course I'm out of shape from having a desk job, so I only do one or two holes at a time.
seriously, you might think they are more work, but get you the ones with metal handles. They are heavier, and make throwing into the hole easier. Plus they usually have an offset handle, which makes pulling dirt out of the hole easier too.

Luckily for me I only need 10 or so holes for my garden fence, and only about a foot deep each. If I hit clay or caliche, I'll just use DHs demo hammer to bust the ground up first. But so far, so good.

If we ever need to put up a real fence, I'll invest in a better digger. Thanks for the tip!

If you ever need to build a real fence, hire out the post holes........

I had some pics on my old phone, from when I built our last fence.......holes were about 24" in diameter, and were over 4' deep for the corner posts. It's a chore.......

Good morning! How are things up North?

We're getting everything geared up for the 2017 golf season. Got all our help hired, the maintenance guys have started watering all the greens and just today I got the shirts ordered for the pro shop (we have a super lady in town that stitches the logo on them for us). Hope to open April 15, which used to seem like a long way away, but now seems like tomorrow, lol.

Don't hurt yourself digging those post holes!
