Almost wish i had bought a new washer when mine started making noise a couple weeks ago. First "fix" of new shocks didn't really fix it. None of the easy things, of course. Spider arm had to be replaced. Finally got her working today, now laundry is 2 weeks behind. :th

Al, speaking of water damage, we had that too! Gutter on my garage flooded my hubby's office, so we finally ripped out the carpet and subfloor and laid ceramic tile on half of it this weekend.

we actually commented that we always have some huge project, every holiday weekend.

What model of refrigerator did you get?

Not sure, I'll have to ask

It doesn't matter, if it lasts a year you are lucky. Used to be they worked for like 20 years. Now they are supposed to stop working so you buy another one.

Probably true, they do it with phones haha apps stop working after so many new models get released

At least you didn't have to buy a new one though!

And I admit I don't really wash stuff till it's a big huge pile or I have no clothes left, I am bad

And hmm, it seems that's always the way it goes

I am having tea, trying to get enough energy to wash dishes. Husband finally said the kittens need to go. I never figured he would last this long. 20170904_073144.jpg

Sounds like you took the spirit of the holiday and labored over your project. sucks to go back to work tomorrow, doesn't it? 'Least it's a short week.

I pruned back all the basil and made 4 kinds of pesto, two that included the oven dried tomatoes i made a week or so ago. So of course, I had to dry more tomatoes as well. They are just about done now. :)

Sounds like maybe it's a sign to move back to Texas? :)

:lau

I would love to.... but I would need to get divorced.

Our fridge went out yesterday, seems like it's the season lol thankfully they were on sale and we got a new one that has a small dent and they're delivering it tomorrow. Who cares about a little dent lol

Seems like maybe it's the season for broken things? :lau

But as my dad says, appliances always break on holidays and to remember it :lau

Apparently we once had a furnace go out on Christmas Eve or the day before but thankfully it was still under warranty and they came and fixed the heat at like 9am the next morning free

I live buying dented appliances! The discount can be pretty big.

I very much hate that. My mom has had her appliances for decades. I get excited when I can get an appliance to hit the 5 year mark.

Projects are rarely fun when you are doing them... and the aches from them aren't so great either...but it is nice to see the finished work.

My toy room/brooder room/junk room looks WAY cleaner now than it has in years!!! That part is nice. :D

I am a huge fan of pesto. :drool we made a decent amount of dandelion pesto last year... not as good as basil, but not bad either.

Mmm pesto.
I've got hundreds of green tomatoes that I've got to deal with. An area near here had frost last night so I'm taking it as a sign that I better get moving. I read that if you take a green tomato and wrap it in newspaper it reopens them beautifully. I'll probably do that with my romas so that I can make sauce to put up for the winter. The rest I guess I'll work on salsa verde, chow chow (a green tomato relish), quick bread, pies and mincemeat. *sigh* just as I think that I can start working on getting caught up something else comes along that takes priority.
Hens behinds are already starting to look cleaner and only light brown now. I'm sure that they'll be a lot happier once they stop being chewed on all the time.
Everybody is always welcome to coffee. I drink it from the time I get up until I go to bed. Back when I had a desk job I had my own personal pot going all the time. Then when I went to work as a manager at Starbucks I rarely had time to drink it! Go figure.
I hope everyone had an easy day tomorrow to help ease into the week.
