BYC Café

Also, anyone hiding inside today?

It feels like -20 outside (-4F). Maybe colder because the wind is whipping across the fields, it was not pleasant letting the chickens out and getting some wood this morning. Guess I'm not ready for this yet!

We actually have a pretty decent temp this morning...it's 40* now and should get up to 50*. As for the wind...well, that's an every day occurrence here :hmm

Morning! Tree, are you sure about skipping the coffee? I think doubling up may be the cure. Sunny here and somewhere around 37F/ 3C and no wind. It is actually quite nice out there.

Ha, actually I am considering getting coffee after all. My throat is feeling better, though I can tell I'm still a bit "off".
And yes, if it wasn't for the wind I think it would be nice(r)..the sun is bright and lovely. My fire keeps dying out and I haven't noticed because the sun is warming up the living room quite nicely!
The actually temperature is only -10 (14F)...but that's still cold

He liked the train ride I take it.

Loved it!

And ya, that Ford thing is a pretty common mistake...for north Americans anyway lol. The car is one of those inventions that multiple people would be trying to design at the same time. Mr. Benz is usually credited with the the 1st. If there was someone else they didn't let enough people know about it

Not at all! It's a remnant of the Knights' Age! The knights would ride opposite each other as if traveling in a vehicle in England. Since they were covered with armor, it was impossible to tell if the knight who came before you was a friend or an enemy. As they approached, they held out their left hand to their eye shield and picked it up for identification (this is the source of the modern salute in the army!) While the right hand was on the sword, if it turned out to be a friend, then everything was all right.but if it were an enemy, the position which the right side ( the side of the strong hand, the sword hand) of one knight was close to the right side of the second knight, allowed to block a potential sword blows of the other knight more efficiently! And that way in England they drive the right way.

Wow that's really interesting!

For sure :)
What @Michelle Farmer-Brown said. And to be fair @ronott1 we're talking about a very specific place!

Except the car was invented in Germany....

(but they drive on the right too so your argument can still stand :lau)

I have to haul my horses today, not too far away though. My friend would like to borrow them to do an EAP session over the weekend and I think it will be a nice change of pace for them.

What's an EAP session Margie?

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy

That's really cool!

I thought the car was invented by Renault in France.
I got it wrong on a quiz once. I said it was Ford. Turns out Ford invented the assembly line, not the car.

Loved it!

Yeah, I swear they teach that here lol that it's does but I might be wrong
