I would like to try Buckeyes but would have to find a breeder as I don't think hatchery birds would be quite the same nor the wonderful breed I've heard they are

We have 1 Barred Rock, 2 Black Australorps, 3 Buff Orpingtons, and 2 Easter Eggers. I love them all but the Australorps are kind of bullies



A crockpot!? Aren't those heavy!?

They use momentum! Mine tossed my ceramic tv lamp off the book shelf last night! Luckily it landed in a box of clothes!

Nice mix I have a Black Australorp and I honestly keep forgetting I have her lol poor thing. So I guess that won't be a breed we continue with. Only had Buff Orpington roos (lost two chicks which were probably female).
I'm thinking about getting Easter Eggers in the spring as well.
I've heard the Buckeyes from the small hatchery near me are good but a bit lighter and smaller then standard. But I'll be looking to see if there's some breeders near me; I think there may be some that got their lines from a good breeder in Alberta.

A crockpot!? Aren't those heavy!?

DH was digging around in a cupboard and had set the crockpot on top of a placemat on the kitchen table. I think the guilty cat probably pulled the placemat and the crockpot toppled off. I'm glad it didn't break but I could do without the dent in the fridge

It's hard to find a safe spot to put things that the cats can't get into.

Exactly! They are very athletic. Have to lock stuff in the closet or put it in the work shop. I have to watch the little one, he likes to eat plastic wrap!

The female I have likes to chew paper. I think I should have named her Shredder. Books, important papers, pictures, boxes...she loves it all

The Shepherd laid down next to my pile of library books the other night and started to gnaw! I put a stop to that really fast. She has 2 big bones to chew!

I had one Cocker that loved to tear up newspaper into itty bits. He never bothered anything else. The others that did it were females in -whelp and that's part of nest making.
