I didn't know you could change it lol

But you can change signature right?
One city, Lynchburg, is about 50 minutes. Danville is about 40 or so depending which part of town. Altavista is about half an hour. Gretna is the closest town, about 20 minutes. I went to Danville today. Too bad it is Sunday since Restore and Builders Discount are closed. But i still got a lot of stuff and some great deals.

Here is Charlie in his new coat, $2!

There is sugar in muffins. They are are not a cake though.

This will change your life! If you have never made muffins then give these a try. You can also make lots of other types of muffins off of this recipe.

Your friends and family will think you are a culinary genius! This is a similar thing to the basic white sauce. With White Sauce, plain muffin with variations and some simple soup recipes you will be able make lots of amazing dinners, lunches, breakfasts....Sorry, I was channeling Gordon Ramsey there a little bit...without the cursing!

Plain Muffins

INGREDIENTS

2 cups white flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter

PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Butter muffin pans. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Add the egg, milk, and butter, stirring only enough to dampen the flour; the batter should not be smooth. Spoon into the muffin pans, filling each cup about two-thirds full. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes each.

Blueberry Muffins.
Use 1/2 cup sugar. Reserve 1/4 cup of the flour, sprinkle it over 1 cup blueberries, and stir them into the batter last.

Pecan Muffins.
Use 1/4 cup sugar. Add 1/2 cup chopped pecans to the batter. After filling the cups, sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and more chopped nuts.

Whole-Wheat Muffins.
Use 3/4 cup whole-wheat flour and 1 cup white flour.

Date or Raisin Muffins.
Add 1/2 cup chopped pitted dates or 1/3 cup raisins to the batter.

Bacon Muffins.
Add 3 strips bacon, fried crisp and crumbled, to the batter.

We are like that too. Superior is closer, but there produce is often lousy, and the selections are small. Hastings has much more and fresh produce, but if you go you give up a whole day. Grand Island is the farthest, but if your willing to drive an hour and a half, you will find about anything you need. So it is always a conversation when we need to go to the store, we have to decide which town we going to go to.
