BYC Café

Wow! That is not good. Hope you have a lot of fuel for your generator at that rate...oh my!

We have a 500 gallon tank which is still at 40 % capacity. Unit appears to be quite efficient. My rough calculations indicate it can run full on for about 3 weeks off this tank - far longer if run more sparingly.

Morning, Tree! Thanks for the coffee. I am tired this AM because I somehow managed to come down with a cough yesterday, some upper respiratory plague. The coffee is doing wonders though. DS$ is off to a private wrestling lesson, compliments of his wrestling buddy that needed a drill partner for HIS lesson and I bet DS$ will get a lot out of it.
It is above freezing and today is get at least one lambing pen ready to go day, make fresh tortillas for "DS%'s" birthday, go to the ranch and make sure everyone knows that DS$ is looking for work this summer. More coffee is needed so I will start a fresh pot!

That is a long time without power!

In 2011 we had an autumn snow storm with leaves still on the trees - lots of branches down, and we lost power for 9 days. One year later on the very same weekend Sandy struck, and power was out for 10 days. Prior to that the longest we were without power was 48 hours. After 3 days I smell bad, and the Princess refuses to snuggle. :p Hence the installation of the generator in 2013.

It takes 3 whole days? Wow, must be nice. I think we'd have vultures circling after two around here.:sick

Margie, what a great deal for your son! I hope he learns a lot.

It's 'pollen season' with a vengeance around here - everything has a yellow haze. If I start coughing, it seems like I'm never going to stop . . . I think my filter is getting clogged.:th

We may all need alternate power sources soon. Big storms knocking out the power grid seem to be increasing
