The children petting zoo has dispensers with a tiny amount of goat(?)food. You put 50cents in and you get a tiny bit of grain almost. The goats all line up by the dispenser, as soon as the food trickles down, they eat it before it can reach your cupped hand.

Lol fair enough, I have the same exceptions!

I guess technically they do have a purpose though if you have a farm/herding dog or a barn cat.

I never had a goat try to butt me, though i did get hit once or twice by accident when one was going after another. I didn't have to train them not to butt people.

Definitely! But mine came from when we lived in the city so they're pretty useless
We're happy about the new barn cat though
And the next dog we get will probably be trained to do some work

Same with ours lol we're not from the city but a smallish town/suburb.

Although the dog is a Black Lab/Great Pyrenees mix so he's actually very useful protecting the chickens fron predators. We don't let him free range with them but he is excellent about alerting to anything outside.

Or was.

I think he's going deaf and he's getting sick :/

The petting zoo is part of a large, Real zoo - and I imagine it sorta pays toward the goat feed. They refill the dispensers often - because everyone wants to feed the goats. I wish I could goat nap 2 -3 to mow my grass and weeds. I wouldn't care if they ate it down to just dirt. I wouldn't even charge them for eating.

Sometimes you can rent them, but they like bushes better than grass.

actually I do know sheep are betting at clearing what you want gone goats
eat more picky

Will they eat buckthorn, it is invasive here.
