Partridge was my first thought. DH said we can go get him sat morning. I will only have to leave him to do groceries and vote.
Very excited. The kittens (yes they are still here) are using the big kitty box now so I can transform their cage into his and can even put a roost in it for him. That way he gets his quarantine time and can see Hairy-et while she gets to know him too. I am thinking a chicken tractor is going to be the best housing for her with her foot issue she just won't do well in the established flock or coop we have now. Plus it will allow for new grass and more chicken fun. She has been housed alone for 4 years so she is not doing anything until she is comfortable with it. A rooster in the house Have not figured out how to convince DH. .

Not much going on here today. Go to the mill and pick up feed. Play outdoors with Layla. Take a nap!

Heat wave is a comin'. Predicting a week of 30-35 (86-95f). And that's to say nothing of the humidex. Sunday is supposed to feel like 44 (111f). I am not looking forward to that
It's quite a thing to live somewhere with such a huge variance in temperature through the year.

It's been hovering around 100°F here but the humidity is so high, the heat index is 108°F ugh!
A couple of nights ago, at 11:30pm temp was still at 88°F

Morning! Hot here too on the plains and hot up here as well for the mountains. Tomorrow is supposed to cool off a bit. We have a uv index, not a humidity thing to worry about.

Yeah, here in South Texas , skin like leather is the norm because of the UV. but not as bad as you get it!

It's hot here too, don't know about uv index today but it's been high. I went out to water and feed the girls at 0500 and I'm already sticky

Good morning, Cafe. Sean have you ever used feed made of left over brewers grain? It is available very reasonably here.
