BYC Café

I have been starting my research again on breeding and standards. I basically seem to have some big DQ in my flock but in fairness I got most of them from hatchery stock thinking I could learn what to look for and see what character traits I like to decide on breed I would like to breed.

I think I have forgotten more than I thought I knew about Chickens  rainy days are good for reading:clap

DH woke up in "off" mood, he has learned to tune out the rooster in the house and in doing so when he woke up on his own he was quite sure he would have to spend his morning and breaks comforting his silly wife about a dead rooster. :thHim: And Me :celebrate:clap:love rooster is fine, hubby adjusted and he loves hi silly wife

G'morning cafe :frow

Thanks for the coffee NFC

Tree great news on the job, hope you enjoy!

Cap I just threw a carcass in a pot for bone broth, hope your processing went quick and easy.

It's HOT today, 113* is the anticipated high in my city :sick no rain, but humidity is climbing. The 5 gallon bucket that collects condensation from the drip tube on the a/c has to be emptied every day now.

Have a great day everyone :)

Maybe that's why ours isn't working well... was wondering what the tube labeled "drip tube" was for and never installed it... to be fair it never mentioned it in the instructions, just how to do the window part, and labeled drip tube. It's one of thos ebig portable ones. Seems to worm fine though

Some portables have an evaporation system the will work if the humidity is not too high. The drip tube on those catches water that does not evaporate.

Without draining, the unit would start leaking water if it did not have an evaporation function so You are likely fine

The air itself may evaporate any water how often in Mass do you turn on the AC? We lived in Michigan for a while and ppl laughed when DH wanted central air. Heat is more important. So if you use it 5 or 7 days a month you will not have much drip waste. On a daily basis the drip becomes important so you may want to look into that f you are in the path of the predicted heat wave.

Thanks that makes sense

We have had it running all week because of a heat wave and humidity but it seems fine, idk. I couldn't find where to attach it also idk if we even have one
