BYC Café

My mother was American. She insisted we had a real Christmas tree.
The pine needles towards the twelfth day were a bit of a nightmare but the tree itself looked lovely with the lights and baubles.
The tree went up and got decorated on Christmas eve. We were banned from the living room while the decorating went ahead.
The other tradition (?) which was unusual in the UK then was to pin a stocking to the mantelpiece last thing before we were sent off to bed.
The door to the living room was locked so despite wanting to sneak down and peak, we had to wait until Christmas morning to see the tree.
I carried on this tradition and much prefer it to the current state where Christmas seems to start somewhere in November.

@CapricornFarm I saw your pain post.
A chiropractor or even a good physiotherapist will help far more than the drugs.
Also I agree with SueT, posture, particularly if you sit in front of a computer a lot makes a huge difference.
I see a physio here twice a year for a problem I have with my left shoulder. While the pain is in my shoulder, the problem is actually in my spine. There are three cartilage points which while not fully trapped, won’t let the nerves move easily. This is what hurts.
