BYC Café

Morning all temps dropped here 32 low 42 high but dry can handle dry .. My brother was born on December 23 our tree did not go up till the 24th thought that was just how it was done... Ma's b day January 2 she knew how it could feel did not want that for him..
We put a tree up around mid December but live around many tree places go cut farms.
Had like 6 pages to go through this morning had to watch the news.... We can all feel a loss George H. Bush passed he is with his wife again and the world has lost a servant
I did not agree with the politics but he served with grace and honor..

My mother was American. She insisted we had a real Christmas tree.
The pine needles towards the twelfth day were a bit of a nightmare but the tree itself looked lovely with the lights and baubles.
The tree went up and got decorated on Christmas eve. We were banned from the living room while the decorating went ahead.
The other tradition (?) which was unusual in the UK then was to pin a stocking to the mantelpiece last thing before we were sent off to bed.
The door to the living room was locked so despite wanting to sneak down and peak, we had to wait until Christmas morning to see the tree.
I carried on this tradition and much prefer it to the current state where Christmas seems to start somewhere in November.

Some nice traditions there Shad.

We used to decorate the tree as a family, usually around the 3rd week of December. And it always came down on New Year's Day. By then, the needles were falling all over the place any way.

@CapricornFarm I saw your pain post.
A chiropractor or even a good physiotherapist will help far more than the drugs.
Also I agree with SueT, posture, particularly if you sit in front of a computer a lot makes a huge difference.
I see a physio here twice a year for a problem I have with my left shoulder. While the pain is in my shoulder, the problem is actually in my spine. There are three cartilage points which while not fully trapped, won’t let the nerves move easily. This is what hurts.
I am outside most of the day, but i have been more aware of how much i bend my head downward. I was practising good posture while walking around today.
Going to see where the chiropractors are around here.

Are you trying to make me cry again?

It's 13*, we'll have a high of 19* and it's supposed to start snowing at noon.

The good news is, I don't have to go anywhere. And DH came home yesterday!
