BYC Café

As soon as the Princess gets organized we are taking grave blankets to her parents' and grandmother's graves. Then a stop at European Provisions for kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, pierogis, home made soup, etc. Late lunch at Red Lobster and then back home.

The European shopping trip sounds like fun...have a good day Sour!

Morning Cafe

Thanks for the coffee, Shadrach

If anyone needs a fresh cup, I just brewed a new pot.

Cap, I thought you were looking for a small tree? That ones kinda big.

Sour, hope your having a wonderful day!

Shadrach, don't worry about the animals, I'm sure their in "good hands" while your away.

Everyone make it a great day.

To be honest, not really. I haven't been away for more than a couple of days in many years and I've underestimated what needs doing. It's not just the chickens and ducks (although they are what I will worry about most) there are dogs, donkeys and sheep as well.
Stuff just seems to all need doing when the weather isn't helpful. I can't manage the large tarpaulins in the wind on my own for example and stuff needs covering. You know, the usual farm stuff.:barnie

Do you have someone lined up to check on the animals while you're gone? My animals are what I always worry about most when I'm gone too. Sorry the weather isn't cooperating with you.

Some people actually admired Bonnie and Clyde for sticking it to the banks.
Thanks for the coffee Shad and hello Glen.

And now you have me reading about Bonnie & Clyde...interesting people, way more so than the old movie made them out to be.

I do have some people who in theory should be able to do it. I'm not going to go into details but you need to be there in a fifteen min time frame for the ones who go up the trees to roost if you're going to get them down without climbing the tree. They come down for me when I call them; they won't do this for anyone else. That means usually encouraging them out of the tree with a long pole. If you leave this too late the chickens can't see well enough to fly safely.

Never heard of a grave blanket. What is it?

Guess what? I have 2 hens that have started to lay eggs again. I wasn't expecting any until late Jan/Feb time frame. Huh, who knew.... I went in to the coop to give them a head of cauliflower to play with while the weather is nasty and I looked around and poof, there they were. However, my DH has been "taking care of the chickens" with feed and water, but apparently not paying attention. I even said the other day when the banty was singing, "Wow! She is gearing up a bit early." She knows better that I do....
